Greening Youth Minds: A New Pathway to Sustainability

Since last December, Training Vision Ireland, together with TIA Formazione, Academy of Entrepreneurship Astiki Etaireia, Organosi GI – Organization Earth, and Instituto Ikigai, has proudly partnered in the European project Greening Youth Minds (GYM).

This initiative is dedicated to equipping young people and youth workers with the tools and knowledge needed to tackle environmental challenges and promote sustainability. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, GYM combines innovative educational resources, accessible training, and an inspiring vision for a greener future.

Whether you are a young person eager to make a difference or an educator aiming to empower the next generation, GYM offers something for everyone.

A Digital Platform for Environmental Learning

At the core of the initiative is a newly launched online platform, a one-stop hub for free sustainability training resources. Open to anyone who registers, the platform provides a variety of modules covering essential topics such as:

– Climate Change

– Sustainable Communities

– Resource Management

– Green Events and Active Citizenship

This virtual resource center is designed to be an invaluable tool for youth organizations, educators, and individuals looking to deepen their environmental expertise.

Webinars Preparing the Ground

To ensure the success of upcoming local workshops in Greece, Italy, Spain, and Ireland, the project team has organized a series of engaging online webinars for youth workers. These sessions have been instrumental in preparing trainers with the skills and knowledge necessary to guide young participants effectively. Topics covered include:

– Media Use for Climate Action

– Youth and Sustainability

– Organizing Green Meetings and Events

– Active Citizenship in Environmental Activities

– Informal Training for Climate Action

Empowering a Green Generation

GYM’s ultimate goal is to inspire young people to become active leaders in environmental protection. Through peer learning and collaboration, the project fosters shared experiences, enabling participants to build the confidence and skills needed to drive real change.

Key Milestones Achieved So Far

– T-Kits: Ready-to-use training toolkits for youth and educators.

– Online Platform: A comprehensive learning space, open to all.

– Webinar Series: A solid foundation for youth worker training.

What’s Next?

From January to March 2024, local training sessions will take place in partner countries, offering hands-on workshops and opportunities for direct engagement with environmental topics.

Join the Movement

With its collaborative approach and focus on sustainability, Greening Youth Minds is more than a project—it’s a call to action. Through its digital platform and local initiatives, GYM is paving the way for a greener, fairer future.
