Design’s Influence on Success: Insights from the “Design Me” Erasmus+ Project

We all know that design can significantly influence a company’s success, helping in brand building, attracting clients, increasing conversions, and ensuring effective online communication. However, not everyone remembers that design is a continuously evolving field. It’s crucial to regularly follow industry news sources, websites, and blogs, and attend conferences and training sessions to stay updated with the latest design trends and practices. That’s why we’re deeply grateful for having participated in the “Design me” project – 2022-3-PL01-KA153-YOU-000102877 under the Erasmus+ program.

The “Design me” project training took place from September 3rd to 8th in Opole, where Alina, Maria, and Kasia represented our Italian agency, Sistema Turismo. Along with us, representatives from 5 countries, including Bulgaria, Turkey, Macedonia, France, and Sweden, showcased their organizations.

This project was intended for those involved in:

  • Management,
  • Social media,
  • Website creation and online content production,
  • Teaching in daily work with the youth.

It wasn’t just theoretical classes; there were also numerous practical group activities. Together, we gained new knowledge and skills in 21st-century design and got acquainted with tools that make our content appealing to young people.

During the training, we learned:

  • How to design consistently and cohesively,
  • About new tools and methods that facilitate actions,
  • Current and upcoming trends,
  • Theory based on case studies,
  • How to apply the knowledge gained in the future.

Throughout the project, alongside participants from other countries, we learned to identify target groups’ needs, recognize and consciously use graphics, illustrations, photos, colors, and visual identities. We then showcased how our organization’s social media looks, discussed our organization’s goals, how it communicates with clients, and the role web design plays in all this.

Additionally, we made new international acquaintances. Working in mixed groups on contemporary topics, it was fascinating to hear opinions from individuals from other countries and share ours. That wasn’t the only bonding experience; we also took city walks together, organized a cultural evening where everyone learned something new about the customs and traditions of each country.

On the project’s last day, we shared the acquired knowledge and new skills, such as:

  • Social competencies and learning abilities,
  • Entrepreneurial skills,
  • Cultural awareness and expressive competencies,
  • Multilingual competencies,
  • Civic competencies,
  • Digital competencies.

Such tasks helped us understand the knowledge we gained through the “Design me” project and how this knowledge can be applied in our work.

We were profoundly impressed by this course because deriving knowledge from training and enjoying time spent together is the best combination. We thank the “Design me” project organizers for the opportunity to acquire valuable skills and meet fascinating people.
